The album didn't need this and Out Go The Lights.

I'm sure it was the running time that kept it from being a single at almost 7 minutes, but worth downloading.ĩ) Can't Stop Lovin' You (featuring Carrie Underwood): WHY? Why is this here? We finally started to have a run of ok songs, then this happens.ġ0) Lover Alot is next. Probably my favorite on the album excluding the bonus tracks. This was the second single released.Ĩ) Street Jesus: At first listen it was the song that really caught my ear first. There are 4 balleds on the album that was billed as one of their heaviest!? There, arguably, should have only been 2, this song and maybe the last song on the album. It was fun the first few times I listened to it, but it's not something I want to listen to over and over and over again.ħ) What Could Have Been Love is the 7th song. It is a song that tells the history of the band. Our first introduction to the new music we've been waiting for. Good enough as a deep cut I guess.Ħ) Legendary Child: The first single from the album. If you have it on in the background it's good musically, but if you break down the lyrics it's just immaturish and bad.

If it were the only attempt at dirty humor maybe it would be a good deep cut track but there's also Lover Alot. It's an attempt at a dirty-humor song they are known for. The "Tell Me"s get a little repetitive, but I'll take it over the others so far.ĥ) Out Go The Lights is the 5th song. I could never see it as a single with radio play, but this is the type of deep cut that serious fans could appreciate. Again they sound more like deep cuts from other albums, Permanent Vacation and Just Push Play respectfully, for me at least.Ĥ) Next, Tell Me, is better. But, it sounds like it could be a deep cut on Get A Grip no more, no less.Ģ/3)The next 2 songs are Oh Yeah, and Beautiful. Why didn't they make that its own track? If it were a great song I'd never want to add it to a playlist because of that intro. Whatever redeeming characteristics this song may have had are ruined by the minute long spoken intro. I'll stop my rant here.ġ) The first half of this album is rough for me. I know Steven was exploring the country side at the time and this song may have been one of the highlights on that album. Lowlight: Why the fuck is Carrie Underwood on this album?!? I have nothing against her, I'm pretty sure you could find some of her music in my itunes library, but this song should have been on one of HER albums "featuring Steven Tyler"!! And I probably would have bought it if that were the case, but this does not belong on an Aerosmith album. Joe's voice doesn't have nearly the range of Steven's and he tends to get drowned out a lot but, not here. I'd love it if he released solo music in this style. It's a Joe Perry lead song (which I'm usually hit-or-miss on) done in a sort of Johnny Cash style. Highlight: If you picked up the bonus tracks, Oasis In The Night has become one of my favorite songs!! Unfortunately it doesn't sound like an Aerosmith song. There are some bright spots, but you gotta weed through to find them. I decided to break this album back out to see if there were anything worth salvaging. And after Devil's Got A New Disguise was released on one of those many greatest hits albums, I couldn't wait for the potential for this album! Then it came out the album title and cover art were horrible!! I listened to it a few times and there were a few songs I thought were ok, but I moved on pretty fast. I was siked for this album!! It had been built up as one of their heaviest albums. I bought the deluxe version when it came out that included 3 bonus songs. It never took off like any of their previous albums and the hype fizzled out pretty fast.
